In this semester report assignment, I will be talking about what I’ve learned this year and covering various topics.
Author’s: Jack London, Author of White fang an amazing adventure action novel made in 1906, May 1st. His book talked about a baby wolf growing old and taking care of others while not worrying enough about himself eventually he settled down and lived a normal animal life not adventuring around the world anymore.
Arthur Conan Doyle, Author of his most popular book Sherlock Holmes. The book started in an office with the main character William Sherlock Holmes writing research papers with sheriff officers. His book walks in and tells him to leave so Sherlock Holmes leaves to go home on the way home he gets a call from his detective colleague telling him there’s a new case that opened up about an old man with his family, the old man died in England Dartmoor people believed he died from a dog attack but there was no bite marks or sign of an attack in the house. There was a dog around though and that was enough evidence for a half-taken case by WIlliam to take it and he gladly did. After they hung up William went home and went to bed, the next day he bought a train ride to Dartmoor and a cab and went to the office department on the behalf of the detective. The sheriffs had no problem and let him through, after close examining he found no dog nearby or seen. The family immediately assumed it was an attack by an animal or intruder, but William dismissed this and closed the case only a couple hours and said he died to a heart attack and when the old man kept saying “animal” the old man had a dog 15 years ago and seen him during a hallucination he had and had a heart attack from it.
I really do love these Author’s and their books we’re so popular in the late-mid 1900’s and I enjoyed reading these books from these people.
Punctuation: This year I learned to write more consistent and advanced punctuation. Writing long stories made me a better writer, and a better understanding of where punctuation should go and make word’s sound more professional then casual. Books I’ve learned punctuation from is Alice in Wonder Land, and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. Both very long books going in depth with the story and giving good punctuation. Learning punctuation is practice and practicing it makes it perfect, when I wasn’t too familiar with punctuation, I would often make mistakes and use punctuation improper.
Favorite books: My favorite book is “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court“, it is a very long book with 44 chapter’s. The book mainly talks about an outcast being treated poorly as a slave or prisoner, but he would often work as a server or cleaner on the main rooms with the king. People would treat him badly thinking he was a petty, favorited prisoner. Hank the main character was a warrior and a barbarian; he was badly hurt in a battle resulting him to go to a nearby village where the king’s left-hand guard was finding poor desperate people for a job. When he found Hank, the guard took him in as prisoner resulting him to be trapped in the cells. Eventually he fought for his freedom when the new laws stated, “if a prisoner beats any guard or warrior, they are set free.” Hank knew he could escape if he fought a weak fighter, and he did, he fought a weak fighter in a friendly sword battle after the king declared Hank to be set free the first thing, he did was travel to his childhood hill daydreaming about his lovely girlfriend and life he had. For 11 years Hank was a prisoner, and a worker. Being set free he became a blacksmith in a local village, becoming rich enough to buy a small home and married a woman named Daniella and had 3 kids living a small cozy life.
Favorite author: Arthur Conan Doyle, I liked reading books by Arthur Conan Doyle like “Sherlock Holmes” and “The Adventure of a Noble Bachelor” both these books are a great adventure/mystery book and are pretty long books. Arthur is one of the most successful Authors in the world with a top 10 books to read name to it. If you read Arthur’s books you will not be disappointed, he has great books throughout his whole writing career. Summary: I’ve learned a lot this year just by reading books and doing homework assignments. I enjoyed reading these books as I find them interesting and entertaining to read. I learned to write better and get better at punctuation, writing these many assignments have reminded me I can write and will keep doing so in the future. I’m hoping to find new author’s later and make new assignments on them; and I like talking about author’s and their best books. I still have more to write about on different essay’s and hoping for better and more interesting books like these I’ve learned this year.
This is a very good blog!
