The Black Death was a tragic and horrific pandemic that happened in Europe and Middle Asia. It killed around 50% of Europe’s population at the time and killed around 30% of Middle Asia. It was believed to spread from fleas on rats and animals, it originated in Asia and quickly spread to Europe. It was a very contagious disease and quarantined every person that were sick. The Black Death was profound in art, films, and novels most famous by Giovanni Boccaccio’s “The Decameron” and other contemporary accounts provide vivid descriptions of the plague’s tragedy. The Plague inspired people to make health care centers and take health precautions if people felt sick, weak, or looked terrible. Before they had no health care or medicine to care for this plague like how medieval medicine tried to deal with the plague and the limitations they faced.
I hate the Black Death. I wish it never even existed.
But okay.
