Key events and Developments

The 19th century began with the industrial revolution which started in Great Britain and later moved to North America and all of Europe. In this time period the world saw the shift and rise of steam engines, factories, and mass production. With this increase more people moved to cities for work, house living, etc. This change of the world shaped today’s lifestyles and social structure.

Age of Imperialism

European powers expanded and built their colonization’s and empires primarily in this time, particularity through Africa and the middle east. With these actions eventually became worldwide exploitation and it became public after conferences and public speeches.

Political changes

This century was marked by significant political changes and started nationalism throughout Europe, Asia, and the middle east still being exploited and used by European powers for their colonies and empires. With this nationalism came the unification of Italy and Germany. The French revolutions ideals of democracy and equality influenced many independence movements worldwide spreading to North America. Leading into the American Civil War going from (1861-1865) has resulted in the abolishment of slavery and making equal rights for all races in America.

Scientifical and Technological Advancements

The 19th century was a time period for fast rapid inventions releasing and becoming public, with these inventions becoming public it was said to be the best and most successful century in history. Inventions like the light bulb, steam factories arising with mass production becoming worldwide and the population rising into cities made inventions like this so useful and successful for the world. Other fields of inventions like medical inventions, making more vaccines, hospitals being more vacant and open to the public. Engineering became the most popular and most useful in this time with steam engine vehicles, steam engine trains, etc. The cities became overpopulated and eventually cities had to expand further than they were anticipated. With this time of revolutionary items and accessories being invented the world became online and social. The world is able to communicate from almost wherever and communication being open and vacant in almost every city in the world.
