I’m a 23-year-old working a decent job. Trying to get a nice home to move out from my apartment. Finally, I found a small home next to some woods, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom. It was enough for a while, something strange though is the blueprint layout I’ve been shown. It had the 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, but I saw an extra room boarded off from a bedroom. The landowner said it was a storage room filled with old broken furniture they used before renovating the house. I thought nothing of it until when I was moving some stuff in the bedroom, I saw an old newspaper marked with numbers. I couldn’t make out what the headline was, but I was curious when I read it, I saw the address of my new home. I was shocked an old newspaper had my home address, as I kept reading it was talking about random homeowners and people turning it down. I was confused why there was an article on my address, and it showed a picture of the house. Now I was curious why there was an article on my house hidden away I grew more curious to read it. Until I came across a different chapter called “The dwelling” after reading a few pages I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. Until I saw a page that showed a tall dark figure that was hairy and crawling on all fours. I thought it was funny but uneasy at the same time, I read that “The Dwelling” was written by the previous owner, who had explored the storage room. Instead of there being broken furniture there was a well filled with water almost overflowing. When the owner looked into the well, he found what appeared to be an old shoelace was floating on the edge of the water’s surface. The landowner later told me a young woman tragically drowned in that very well. He had told me to stay out of that room because weird things will start to happen. It left me uneasy and curious, as the days went by, I heard scratching on the walls coming from inside that room. I tried to tell myself it was just squirrels in the attic. After a week went by the scratching turned into humming. One night the humming turned into screams which gave me no choice but to pack and move out. I will never be going back to that place ever again.
