Hans Brinker and The Silver Skates

Starts off with 2 kids, a mother, and a sick father through about 10 chapters it’s an everyday thing and Gretal the sister made a friend, Hilda that is rich and bought Gretal some silver skates. around the middle of the book after meeting Hilda and her friends the father got cured and was very happy but everything that has happened when he was sick, he does not remember anything but before he did. They have a complicated life they do a lot around the house and the brother; Hans Brinker is responsible for a lot of things for example his sister which would go out of her way to go skating and her mother did not want that or to deal with that. Many people were in the book like max and Jenny or Hilda which was there for when the father got cured and when she met Gretal is the start of the book. The mother being a stay-at-home mom and the father still working at home, Hans Brinker had a part time job which Hans was 15. Gretal was young around 12 and her friend Hilda bought her skates for an event she was throwing, and she asked Gretal if she wanted to join but Gretal said she does not have skates to enter, and Hilda went out of her way to buy some for her showing her what a friend she is. Hans Brinker does not have friends or interacts like Gretal does he is a worker and takes care of his father and sister. There’s a lot to this book but it’s all repetitive and the same where Gretal enters a tournament and Hans Brinker gets another job and the father is restoring his memory and getting better, and the father’s surgery and cure is expensive and Hilda with her parents pay for all of it once again.
