History week 4.

Portland cement is used for 3D printing and building. Rome first introduced it in 1756. The primary ingredient of cement is concrete holding it all together. The first people to use it were Romans and Europeans. Romans used it extensively for building, Europeans barely used it for building. After Rome fell all the cement was out of use, the Europeans had no use of it either. They would have to take it from Romans. After Rome fell Britain wanted to make it better and started experimenting with limestone and made patented cement. The first to find patented cement was Joseph Aspdin.

Electromagnets: It was first made to move metal objects big or small to areas quickly to make a makeshift. One you need a copper wire, battery, and a metal piece. They were made in the 18’00s, after the Napoleonic war. The first person to ever make it was William Sturgeon. After Oersted saw the lick between it, they were fascinated at it, they started selling it immediately.

Passenger rail. After the passenger rail was made there was a growing fascination in the riders. The invention was only made in 1801. Who made it, was George Stepheson, after years of development. It was a global hit. Passengers requested rapid transport to carry them to their destination. The invention was a great help to people in Great Britain and America.

Matches. It uses for bonfires and to light any object near it. It has fibers in it to make the sparks to light fire. It actually has nicotine to help light up. Nicotine has a high fiber content of ashes in it. People now use it different from people before, surprisingly.
