Lesson 11.
The pencil. It was found around 1560 by Indians that used rocks with graphite on it. Around 1896 pencil was made by British. There were other people that made it, but Brunel was the first one ever. After this inventio other people started making it. The main utensils is graphite, lead and wood to hold it all. When people started drawing with pencils on rocks, they realized they can use paper. Shortly after this invention, factories started making pencils.
Lesson 12
The Stethoscope. It was not made by a scientist. It was found out by a doctor in the very first hospital in France. It was a normal day out of all the doctor on its way to his job. When he stopped to see a particular children’s game. He thought of it and knew it was an old Indian game. When he arrived to his office, there was a patient, that was a girl. He felt embarrassed to put his ear up to her chest to hear her heart. He got a rolled-up piece of paper, wood and some glue. He made the first new stethoscope. When he made it, the woman was shocked. She had to say something. When she was done, she went to the streets and gathered people to tell.
Lesson 13
The tunneling shield. The tunneling shield is made for tunnels under rocks and water. It was discovered in 1845 in Londen. The first-time tunnel was used a going to Russia. The tunnel was over 1200 feet long. It was dug under the Thames River. Needed as much as 7-10 people digging even then it takes months.
Lesson 14
Paved roads. The paved roads were made it was in 4000 BC. Now we have paved roads on interstates, highways, main roads. The paved roads were first made in Philadelphia.
